Why you can't lose weight and what to do about it

Like hundreds of people out there, you’ve tried every diet under the sun, you exercise like crazy, but you just can’t seem to lose weight. You are doing everything right, but nothing is happening. You get frustrated and angry, you seek other alternatives but still, nothing works.

If this sounds like you, then please continue to read on.

We live in such a toxic world where everything around us is constantly making us sick and preventing us from losing weight. Our toxic load is so great that our bodies literally slow down our metabolism from breaking down fat because it simply can’t get rid off it at the rate we need to.

Toxins are stored in fat, so when you start to lose weight, this fat breaks down and all the toxins are released into they body. The organs and tissues that are responsible for breaking down these toxins and detoxifying the body stay “STOP! WE CAN’T DO IT!”. What then happens is that the body slows down the metabolism which in turn halts weight loss.

So, what are toxins and what do you mean ‘toxic load’?

We like to use the term xeno-estrogen or xeno-hormone when we refer to toxins and toxic load. Basically, anything that contains chemicals has the capability of completely changing your hormones and the way your body functions. If you have hormonal issues and imbalances, you can bet that you won’t be losing weight any time soon. They come in many shapes and sizes, including:

  • Deodorant

  • Soy products

  • BPA (plastic bottles, containers, etc)

  • Microwaves

  • Make up

  • Moisturizers

  • Packaged foods

  • Pesticides on our fruits and veggies

Everyday we expose our body to these products and our organs and tissues are constantly working to excrete them and remove them. This load builds up more and more throughout the course of our lives to a point where we become so poor at removing toxins that even a small change can send our bodies into ‘shock’. If this happens to you then we suggest a Gut Rebuilding Protocol and a gentle Detox/Cleanse Program tailored to suit you from an experienced practitioner.

So, what can we do about it?

STEP 1

Make sure your diet is in check – we recommend using the BioPrint method to determine what nutrition and lifestyle plan you need that addresses your individual priority. If you are following this 100% and still can’t lose weight, then your toxic load may need to be addressed.

TIP: If you’re still abusing carbs and keep thinking ‘why can’t I lose weight?’ you need to ditch them and only have them at certain times of the day. Diet is always first.

STEP 2

Remove the source of toxins. This can be very simple for some, and also very difficult for others. Here are a few things you can do immediately:

  • Stop drinking out of plastic bottles

  • Only drink filtered water

  • Stop using body lotion and deodorant that have toxins (if you don’t understand the ingredients list, don’t use it!!!)

  • Buy organic berries where you can

  • Stop using the microwave

  • Source chemical free make up

  • Stop using any sprays (deodorant, Glen 20, perfume, etc.)

  • Get an air filter

These steps are so simple and so easy to implement – don’t be lazy, go out and get it done!

STEP 3

Heat the body. Any time your body gets hot, you sweat and release toxins. Everyday make sure you heat your body, through things like exercise or the use of a sauna. Once you have finished, make sure you immediately wash your skin and have a shower otherwise all those toxins will get absorbed straight back into the skin.

STEP 4

Maybe it’s time for a career change. This is one step that you may or may not be able to follow 100%. If you work in the following industries, you can guarantee that your work is preventing you from losing weight due to the toxins you expose yourself to every day:

  • Hairdresser

  • Painter

  • Pest control

  • Nail technician

  • Car detailer

  • Make up artist

  • Work in a perfume shop

  • Cleaner

If you can’t change careers, it’s ok – there are plenty of things you can do to minimize your toxic load. You have to be really on top of all the other lifestyle factors and make sure that anything that you are able to change, you do!

HEADS UP

You may be a good detoxifier or a poor detoxifier – what we mean is that as you may need to go really slow when you start to detoxify your body. If you feel any of the following symptoms, remember to go slow:

  • Nausea

  • Dizziness

  • Migraines/headache

  • Aches and pains

  • Brain fog

  • Irritability

For best results, book in to see us and finally start to lose the weight as you detox properly and achieve the best results possible. Detoxifying the body is just the start.
